{"id":1586,"date":"2012-08-09T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-08-09T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.totellyouthetruth.net\/?p=1586"},"modified":"2012-08-09T07:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-08-09T12:00:00","slug":"why-christianity-is-true-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.davecruver.com\/?p=1586","title":{"rendered":"Why Christianity is True 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scripture is replete of one theme: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totellyouthetruth.net\/?p=1583\" target=\"_blank\">a huge number of diverse people will come together in unity around Jesus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Further, I have written <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totellyouthetruth.net\/?p=1548\" target=\"_blank\">about<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totellyouthetruth.net\/?p=1542\" target=\"_blank\">sin<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totellyouthetruth.net\/?p=1405\" target=\"_blank\">sin&#8217;s punishment<\/a> a few times before.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sin demands a payment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is Jesus Who pays the penalty of the sin of all who believe in Him (John 3:16; Romans 6:23).<\/p>\n<p>Because of sin, particularly in the Old Testament, God allowed lambs to be sacrificed so that the people&#8217;s sin was covered even though the lamb&#8217;s blood could never take away the sin (Hebrews 10:4).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nothing and No one else could pay sin&#8217;s penalty except Jesus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Apostle Paul tells us,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,&#8221; ~1 Timothy 2:5.<\/p>\n<p>The writer to the Hebrews explains, &#8220;Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.&#8221; And the writer says, &#8221; to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Jesus is the Great Mediator Between God and Man<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This means, in large part, Jesus is the only way to forgiveness of sins and the great salvation which sets us free unto freedom&#8211; Freedom from sin and guilt.<\/p>\n<p>Continued&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scripture is replete of one theme: a huge number of diverse people will come together in unity around Jesus.
